Senators Want Online Complaint Database at FCC

FCC process reform continues to be of interest at the agency and on Capitol Hill.  As part of that discussion, Senators Bill Nelson (D-FL) and Tom Udall (D-NM) have called on FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler to construct a searchable consumer complaints database accessible from the FCC.gov homepage. The Senators wrote, “We believe a searchable and user-friendly customer complaint database will enhance transparency, help the FCC empower consumers, and spur greater innovation in the telecommunications marketplace.” Notably, at a Senate Appropriations Subcommittee hearing this week chaired by Senator Udall, both FCC Chairman Wheeler and FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai expressed support for this idea.
