FCC process reform continues to be of interest at the agency and on Capitol Hill. As part of that discussion, Senators Bill Nelson (D-FL) and Tom Udall (D-NM) have called on FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler to construct a searchable consumer complaints database accessible from the FCC.gov homepage. The Senators wrote, “We believe a searchable and user-friendly customer complaint database will enhance transparency, help the FCC empower consumers, and spur greater innovation in the telecommunications marketplace.” Notably, at a Senate Appropriations Subcommittee hearing this week chaired by Senator Udall, both FCC Chairman Wheeler and FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai expressed support for this idea.
