Rev. Billy Graham: Vote Biblical Values

The Reverend Billy Graham, known to many as “America’s pastor,” is calling on citizens to vote for biblical values next Tuesday.  Rev. Graham, who will turn 94 on Wednesday and who has prayed with every U.S. President since Harry Truman, is also urging prayer that the United States continues as “one nation under God.”

In full-page newspaper ads across the country, Rev. Graham is declaring:

The legacy we leave behind for our children, grandchildren and this great nation is crucial. As I approach my 94th birthday, I realize this election could be my last. I believe it is vitally important that we cast our ballots for candidates who base their decisions on biblical principles and support the nation of Israel. I urge you to vote for those who protect the sanctity of life and support the biblical definition of marriage between a man and a woman. Vote for biblical values this November 6, and pray with me that America will remain one nation under God.

In an article declaring that the late Chuck Colson would be proud of Rev. Billy Graham’s declaration, Dr. Timothy George, Dean of the Beeson Divinity School at Samford University and Chairman of the Board at the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview, notes, “…it is a message filled with the pathos of a person who has long outlived most of his contemporaries…. words spoken near the end of life have a certain gravity. They command attention. Graham had something important to say, and we should do him the honor of listening to his words with respect and weighing them carefully.”
