Ministry leader, preacher, and apologist Dr. Ravi Zacharias recently spoke at the United Nations’ annual International Prayer Breakfast, marking his third appearance at the venue.
Prior to his address, the ministry leader asked supporters to pray for him, noting that many of the ambassadors who would be present were from the Middle East.
“This is a very intimidating setting in which to speak on such a tough theme (the painful question of our human struggle),” shared Dr. Zacharias, who is Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries.
After delivering his address, Dr. Zacharias recalled how he “sensed God’s presence, but to be honest, I felt very nervous and somewhat uptight.”
Still, he added, “The Lord nevertheless blessed.”
During his address, Dr. Zacharias highlighted a conversation he once had with a Muslim sheikh.
“Until you and I receive the Son the Lord has provided, we will be offering our own sons and daughters on the battlefields of this world for position, power, and land,” Dr. Zacharias recalled telling the sheikh.
According to the ministry leader, the address was well-received, and a “key person” at the event asked him if he could use the remark to the sheikh for the closing comment of a major speech.
“I am so grateful that so many of you prayed,” Dr. Zacharias shared after the event. “My mind responds to all of you with gratitude.”
