NRB Screens New Disney Film, The Odd Life of Timothy Green

The Odd Life of Timothy GreenNRB staff recently had the opportunity to screen The Odd Life of Timothy Green (PG), the soon-to-be-released Disney film written and directed by Peter Hedges.

The story begins with Cindy and Jim Green (played by Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton), a couple who are facing the realization that they are unable to conceive a child. Devastated by the news, both Cindy and Jim finally come to terms with their circumstances and agree to put everything behind them. They decide to bury a box in their backyard that includes all of their wishes for a child.

That night, despite a recent drought in their area, the Greens’ land is drenched by a somewhat miraculous rainstorm. After the storm subsides, much to the Greens’ surprise, a young boy named Timothy (played by CJ Adams) appears on their property. It doesn’t take the Green family long to realize that Timothy is a very special, talented boy who seems to be made just for them and who is anything but ordinary!

Throughout the beautiful months of fall, as the leaves change colors and begin to descend from their branches, Timothy and his new parents develop a unique and touching bond, and share in some of life’s most precious moments. This film is jam-packed with fun, adventure, and excitement for all audiences and is sure to touch the hearts of each and every viewer. It is a wonderful reminder of our need to always appreciate the ones in our lives who bring us so much joy, and to cherish each and every moment we have with them.

Dr. Frank Wright, NRB President & CEO, said of the film, “On occasion, the necessary suspension of reality to enjoy a fantastic story yields important insights on things that really matter. Such is the case with The Odd Life of Timothy Green. It is a compelling storyline, with believable characters and rich cinematic values.  Don’t miss this one!”

The Odd Life of Timothy Green arrives in theaters on Wednesday, August 15.
