The Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU), which several iNRB members also belong to, has appointed Dr. Edward O. Blews, Jr., as its next president.
Dr. Blews previously served on the board of CCCU, and most recently was President of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities in Michigan.
“Ed Blews served the independent colleges of Michigan with great effectiveness, representing our best interests articulately and efficiently in the halls of political power in Lansing,” recalled Dr. Joseph M. Stowell, President of Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, MI.
“When I heard that Ed was taking the presidency of the CCCU, I was both elated and disappointed. Elated as a member of the CCCU, given his obvious leadership and institutional strengths, and disappointed to see him leaving his post here in Michigan,” added Dr. Stowell, whose school has been broadcasting the Good News of Jesus Christ for over 30 years through Cornerstone University Radio. “The CCCU has done well to select Ed for this strategic post.”
CCCU is a higher education association that represents 170 intentionally Christ-centered institutions around the world. In addition, 54 affiliate campuses from 18 countries are part of the CCCU.
President-elect Blews will helm the CCCU upon the retirement of Dr. Paul Corts, who has led the council for six years. Dr. Blews will assume the full responsibilities of the position of president on January 1, 2013.
