KHCB to Celebrate 50th Anniversary

KHCB Radio NetworkKHCB (Keeping Him Close By) will be marking its 50th anniversary with a celebration event on September 28.

In 1962, KHCB went on air as the first Christian radio station in the city of Houston. KHCB has since grown to include an FM and AM station, a translator station, satellite programming and worldwide access via the Internet.

“We give thanksgiving and praise to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, who has guided this ministry from its humble beginnings of a 3,400-watt local station to a multi-lingual worldwide media presence,” reflects a station spokesperson.

Joining KHCB for the anniversary event will be John MacArthur of Grace to You and modern hymn writers Keith and Kristyn Getty. MacArthur, whose radio program airs on KHCB every weekday at 9:00 p.m., will be speaking.

The celebration will be held at First Baptist Church in Houston on Friday, September 28, at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets are required to attend, and can be purchased online or at the KHCB Headquarters in Houston. Tickets will not be sold or distributed at the event.

More information is available on the KHCB website, khcb.org, including a detailed history of the ministry, as chronicled in the book For It is God Who Works by Dolly Martin Monroe.
