Many Christians will join in prayer this weekend for persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ worldwide. Sunday, November 3, is the date for the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP), an annual event that has spread to hundreds of countries. According to Open Doors USA, over 100 million Christians worldwide face interrogation, incarceration, and threats to their lives because of their faith. Violence against Christians has gained increased attention on Capitol Hill, particularly after recent attacks in Egypt, Iran, Nigeria, and Syria.
