In Memoriam: Tom Moffit, Sr.

Memoriam CandleChristian radio pioneer Thomas Harvey "Tom" Moffit, Sr., went to be with the Lord on February 2 at the age of 86.

Moffit began his career in 1946, and served at WIP, WIBG and WHAT in Philadelphia and KMPC in Los Angeles. He would later come to own several Christian radio stations (which have since been sold) including WTLN AM and FM in Orlando; WVCH AM in Philadelphia; WGCB in York, PA; and WSJI in Cherry Hill, NJ.

Moffit also served as an agent and consultant to several radio ministries including Olive B. Greene's The Gospel Hour.

He is survived by his wife, Alice, and their three children - Thomas Jr., Linda and Nancy.
