Churches Invited to Join Renowned Christian Speakers, Thinkers for Apologetics Conference

Truth for a New GenerationAlex McFarland, host of the apologetics-focused radio show Sound Rezn, is inviting churches across the nation to join him and other Christian speakers and thinkers for the 2013 Truth for a New Generation Conference next month.

"This is the conference that will prepare your church to 'reach and teach,'" says McFarland. "Discover how apologetics empowers people of all ages to live their faith and share it effectively."

For nearly 20 years, McFarland has organized the Truth for a New Generation conferences so that Christians may be trained to better understand their faith; those struggling with doubts may find answers to their questions; scholars may have a forum in which to present their research and the most up-to-date evidence for Christianity; and so that churches may receive practical apologetics training resulting in congregations being better equipped to meet the spiritual needs of the people in their communities.

"Throughout history, followers of Christ have been called on to defend the faith and family when it was under attack," note promoters of the event. "Apologetics is not new."

And today, they add, there is a clear need to proclaim the truth of the Gospel - especially as the resurrection of Jesus, biblical authority, moral absolutes, the existence of God, and the very building blocks of society (families) are being attacked.

"It is time for champions of the cause to step forward. It is time for a movement within the church to 'proclaim and defend,'" event promoters say.

The upcoming September 27-28 event in Charlotte, NC, will feature Dan Kimball, Erwin Lutzer, Josh McDowell, Eric Metaxas, Tony Perkins, and Lee Strobel, among others.

Furthermore, there will be breakouts and keynote sessions on Worldview & Apologetics, Church Planting, Prayer, Discernment, Church Leadership & Discipleship, Evangelism, Islam, and family-related issues: Women's Issues, Abortion, Same-Sex Marriage, Bio-Ethics, and more.

Sponsors of the event include North Greenville University, the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview, Logos Bible Software, Focus on the Family, the American Family Association, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Chick-fil-A, the Truth Network, and the NRB Network, among others.
