Campaigns to Suspend Ads on 9-11

In honor of the anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks next Tuesday, the presidential campaigns of President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney have signaled that they will each suspend campaign advertising for the day. The campaigns will be following in the footsteps of the last two presidential campaigns. In 2004 President George W. Bush and Senator John Kerry paused from campaigning to memorialize the day, and in 2008 then-Senator Obama and Senator John McCain did the same, even visiting the World Trade Center site together.
