Bott Radio Network Marks 50 Years of Broadcasting

Bott RadioThis month, Bott Radio Network will be officially marking 50 years of getting God’s Word to God’s people.

It was on November 12, 1962, that KCCV (Kansas City’s Christian Voice) 1510 first went on the air with announcer Bill Freeman.

“For 50 years, Bott Radio Network has served families with Quality Bible Teaching and Christian News and Information,” noted BRN President & CEO Rich Bott, whose father, Dr. Dick Bott, purchased the first BRN station in Kansas City, MO.

What started out as one station 50 years ago has grown to 91 radio stations reaching into 15 states with a combined coverage of 50 million people.  BRN is also heard nationwide on SkyAngel Channel 403, worldwide online at bottradionetwork.com and on mobile devices with free apps for iPhone, iPad and Android users.

Regarding BRN’s anniversary, NRB President & CEO Dr. Frank Wright praised the network for its dedication to solid biblical preaching and for setting the standard for excellence in Christian broadcasting.

“I commend the Bott family for their faithfulness to the call of God on their lives,” stated Dr. Wright. “Millions have been blessed by their steadfast devotion to Him who called us from out of darkness to walk in His marvelous light.”

As BRN celebrates its 50th anniversary throughout this year, the network plans to continue honoring the past, serving in the present, and anticipating the future.

Earlier this year, BRN celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special event at the NRB 2012 Convention & Exposition in Nashville, TN.
