Alone Yet Not Alone to Release in Theaters June 13

Alone Yet Not AloneScheduled for release in theaters nationwide on June 13 is Alone Yet Not Alone, a feature length film based on the true story of a German-American immigrant family that faced hardship, loss, and sorrow during the French & Indian War in 1755.

“It’s a beautiful film with a strong Christian theme,” notes Joni Eareckson Tada of Joni and Friends, who sang the title song for the film.

“We’ll want to get behind this film,” adds NRB President & CEO Dr. Jerry A. Johnson. “Everyone will be blessed by this story.”

Set at a critical juncture in our nation’s history, Alone Yet Not Alone recounts the journey of faith and survival of Barbara and Regina Leininger, who are captured by Delaware Indians in a raid on their home. Transported through more than 300 miles of wilderness to Ohio, the sisters are sustained only by their abiding trust in God and their hope of escape against all odds to be reunited with their family.

Earlier this year, during the NRB 2014 International Christian Media Convention, Dr. Jim Leininger, a descendant of the Leininger family, gave a moving presentation about his family and their testimony. This was followed by a special musical performance by Joni Eareckson Tada of “Alone Yet Not Alone,” composed by Bruce Broughton and written by Dennis Spiegel.

Both the presentation and the musical performance are viewable on YouTube.
