WASHINGTON (NRB) – Wayne Pederson, Global Ambassador for Reach Beyond, will receive an NRB Milestone Award on Thursday, March 2, at Proclaim 17, the NRB 2017 International Christian Media Convention in Orlando, Florida.
NRB’s Milestone Awards are presented each year at the association’s annual Convention to pioneers in Christian communications who have demonstrated exemplary service in the industry for five decades or longer.
In 1967, Wayne Pederson began his radio career as an announcer on KTIS. In the years that followed, Pederson served as a member of the NRB Board of Directors, Executive Director of the Christian Music Broadcasters, President of the Mission America Coalition, and as President of HCJB Global (now Reach Beyond). Since September 2016, Pederson has been serving as Global Ambassador for Reach Beyond.
“Wayne Pederson has faithfully served the Lord through Christian broadcasting and ministry for more than 50 years, and has impacted lives throughout that time. We are happy to recognize him for his outstanding service with the Milestone Award,” said NRB President & CEO Dr. Jerry A. Johnson.
In expressing appreciation for the recognition, Pederson said, “I’ve been privileged to use my passion for radio as a means to serve Jesus Christ. I love radio! God has given me opportunities in local, national, and international radio. And I love National Religious Broadcasters. What a joy to serve Christ together!”
Pederson’s Milestone Award is one of 21 NRB Media Awards that will be presented during Proclaim 17, which takes place February 27-March 2, 2017, at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando. For the complete list of 2017 award recipients, click here.
