Ryan T. Anderson to Speak at NRB15 on Marriage, Trends in America

Ryan T. AndersonNashville, TN – Ryan T. Anderson is scheduled to speak on Thursday, February 26, during a session titled “Protecting Marriage: How to Get the Media Message Right for This Generation” at the NRB 2015 International Christian Media Convention in Nashville, TN.

Anderson will be joined by Dr. Owen Strachan, President of The Council for Biblical Manhood and Womanhood; Eric Teetsel, Executive Director of the Manhattan Declaration; Christian activist Alan Craig from London, England; and session moderator Penny Nance, CEO & President of Concerned Women for America.

Prior to the session, Anderson will present the 2014 Index of Culture and Opportunity, and reveal what’s really trending in America when it comes to marriage, divorce, abortion, debt, and education. He will review data that tracks key social and economic trends to determine whether important indicators of opportunity in America are on the right track.

“Ryan Anderson clearly understands and skillfully analyzes the debate surrounding marriage,” commented NRB President & CEO Dr. Jerry A. Johnson. “His research and insights into the case for natural marriage are crucial for NRB15 attendees who seek to effectively communicate to their audience and community on this issue.”

Anderson researches and writes about marriage and religious liberty as the William E. Simon Fellow at The Heritage Foundation. He also focuses on justice and moral principles in economic thought, health care, and education, and has expertise in bioethics and natural law theory.

Anderson’s recent work at Heritage focuses on the constitutional questions surrounding same-sex “marriage.” He is the co-author with Princeton’s Robert P. George and Sherif Girgis of the acclaimed book What Is Marriage? Man and Woman: A Defense (Encounter Books, December 2012). Justice Samuel Alito cited the book twice in his dissenting opinion in the Supreme Court case involving the Defense of Marriage Act.

Anderson's work has been featured in or published by major journals, newspapers, and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and Christianity Today.

Anderson is also the Editor of Public Discourse, the online journal of the Witherspoon Institute of Princeton, NJ.
