NASHVILLE (NRB) – Mohabat TV received the 2018 NRB International Impact Award on Friday, March 2, at Proclaim 18, the NRB International Christian Media Convention in Nashville, Tennessee.
The NRB International Impact Award recognizes an individual or organization that is having an impact outside the U.S. and that demonstrates a strong personal commitment to proclaiming Christ through electronic media, working with integrity and faithfulness to influence a culture for Christ.
Since March 2006, Mohabat TV has been broadcasting 24/7 Farsi Christian programming to the Farsi-speaking Muslims of Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan via satellite TV, internet, and social media. Mohabat TV, along with its family of more than 85 ministry partners, has been actively sending and distributing Bibles inside Iran, connecting new believers to the underground Church and advancing the Kingdom among the Unreached Unengaged People Group. In 2016, the call center processed an average of 700 contacts per day from Muslims, yielding to 93 decisions for Christ per day. According to an independent survey done by Brown & Fraser, Mohabat TV’s audience is projected to be around 16,000,000, or 20 percent of Iran’s population.
Based in Southern California, 90 percent of Mohabat’s programming is done by indigenous talents. Additionally, the ministry has a vast online leadership platform called MyKelisa.com – training young, tech-savvy house church leaders from Iran and diaspora. Although every day there are more than 200 hacking attempts on its servers and signals, Mohabat maintains a strong presence through its online platforms and Hotbird and WNS transponders.
The International Impact Award was one of 26 awards that were presented during Proclaim 18, which took place February 27-March 2, 2018, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. For the complete list of 2018 award recipients, click here.
