NASHVILLE (NRB) – Bob Augsburg, founder and president Emeritus of WAY Media, received the 2018 NRB Radio Impact Award on Friday, March 2, at Proclaim 18, the NRB International Christian Media Convention in Nashville, Tennessee.
The NRB Radio Impact Award recognizes a person, station, program, network, or ministry that has illustrated over time a consistent and unique impact within the Christian radio industry and/or to the Body of Christ as a whole.
Bob Augsburg and his wife, Felice, founded WAY-FM in 1987 as a single station in Fort Myers, Florida. Since then, as president and CEO, Augsburg has overseen the ministry as it has grown to dozens of full power and translator signals around the country.
Broadcasting a format of Contemporary Christian Music with announcers who are "uplifting, upbeat and real," WAY-FM reaches more than a million listeners each week. With stations throughout the United States and internationally, WAY-FM also encourages listeners to LIVE (it) OUT, participating in service projects in each market.
The Radio Impact Award was one of 26 awards that were presented during Proclaim 18, which took place February 27-March 2, 2018, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. For the complete list of 2018 award recipients, click here.
