Thousands Protest Abortion in Annual "March for Life" in D.C.
January 22, 2015
Tens of thousands of anti-abortion rights supporters from across the U.S. descended on Washington, D.C., in the annual "March for Life" on Thursday.
The rally marks the 42nd anniversary of the Supreme Court’s landmark abortion decision, Roe v. Wade.
The House was expected to vote on a measure criminalizing most abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy on Thursday, but the bill was pulled late on Wednesday after Republicans concluded they were short of votes. President Obama has already said he’d veto the bill if it reached his desk.
