Program To Give Tax Breaks To Owners Who Sell To Women, Minorities Advances In House

Revival of a tax certificate program as a way to increase the number of women and minority owners took another step forward in Washington on Wednesday. The House Energy and Commerce Committee unanimously passed the Expanding Broadcast Opportunities Act (H.R. 3957) that would use the federal tax code to incentivize current radio and TV station owners to spin-off stations to women and minorities.
