Samaritan's Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) presented two ambulances to Heart to Heart Israel during a dedication ceremony at the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, NC, on Wednesday, December 16.
"We come to dedicate these two ambulances, and of course we want to dedicate them to the glory of Almighty God, and that God will use these ambulances not only to save lives, but to reach people that may not able to be reached, to help people that may not be able to be helped," said Franklin Graham, who leads both Samaritan’s Purse and BGEA. "And so I just pray that, as these ambulances go, that God will be with them and that God will use them. And those who will be driving them, who will be caring for the sick in the back, that God will have His protection over each and every one."
Heart to Heart, which will be exhibiting at Proclaim 16, the upcoming NRB International Christian Media Convention in Nashville, TN, allows Christians to play an important role in saving lives in Israel by supporting Magen David Adom, Israel’s only government sanctioned, but not financially supported, paramedic, ambulance, and blood-banking organization.
Because Israel periodically has been the target of wars and terrorist attacks, Magen David Adom has emerged as the world’s most experienced mass-casualty response organization in the world, and a leader in emergency medical services. Magen David Adom serves as emergency medical first responders for the state's 8.4 million people.
"They are the first responders," Graham noted. "When there is a problem, when there is trouble, when there's anybody who has an emergency call for whatever reason, this organization in Israel is the first one to get there with life saving help. So we're grateful that we can partner with them and be able to help them in just a very small way. And so we give these ambulances, and we give them of course in the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and my Savior."
Adding to that, Jonathan Feldstein, Director of Heart to Heart Israel, noted the wave of terrorism that Israel has experienced over the past three months.
"One thing that provides comfort to all Israelis is knowing that ambulances like these are available, staffed, and equipped - ready at a moment's notice to respond to any emergency," Feldstein shared.
"By blessing Israel with this, you help ensure the Scripture of Genesis 12:3 is affirmed," he told Graham and his team. "Not just that Israel be blessed, but that through Israel, all the families of the world be blessed."
Heart to Heart is a project of American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA), a nonprofit organization devoted exclusively to saving lives in Israel for more than seven decades. Heart to Heart/AFMDA will be in Booth 550 on the Exposition floor of Proclaim 16, which will be held February 23-26, 2016.
