In preparation for the nationwide theatrical release of God’s Not Dead 2 on April 1, 2016, Pure Flix has launched its own U.S. theatrical distribution arm — solidifying its position as the first full-service global Christian motion picture production and distribution studio.
Pure Flix is responsible for the No. 1 faith film God’s Not Dead (2014) and the recent box office successes Do You Believe? and Woodlawn.
Film industry executives Ken Rather and Daniel Lange have joined the Pure Flix studio to lead the newly formed theatrical distribution team. Rather, coming from his VP of Film position at Regal Entertainment, assumes the role as VP of Theatrical Distribution and will be based in Pure Flix’s Scottsdale, AZ, headquarters.
“I am honored to be a part of the great team that Pure Flix has assembled and am excited to be a part of bringing faith and family films to a national audience on a regular basis,” Rather said.
Lange will serve as General Sales Manager and brings vast theatrical distribution experience, with a decade at Walt Disney Studio Motion Pictures followed by his role as SVP of Distribution at Picturehouse, Apparition, and FilmDistrict. Lange's career headlines include leading roles with The Passion of the Christ and distribution consultant on Soul Surfer.
On April 1, 2016, Pure Flix will release nationwide to theaters the highly anticipated God's Not Dead 2: He's Surely Alive, starring Melissa Joan Hart, Jesse Metcalf, David A.R. White, Hayley Orranita, Ernie Hudson, Sadie Roberts, Robin Givens, Maria Canals-Barrera, and Fred Thompson, with special appearances by Pat Boone, Ray Wise, Gov. Mike Huckabee, and Newsboys.
Founded in 2005 by Michael Scott, David A.R. White, Russell Wolfe, and Elizabeth Travis, Pure Flix has become the largest independent faith and family studio in the world. With offices in Los Angeles and Scottsdale, Pure Flix has produced, acquired, marketed, and distributed nearly 100 faith and family-friendly properties.
