For the third consecutive year, NRB’s weekly e-newsletter, NRB Today, was recognized with the Evangelical Press Association’s (EPA) Award of Excellence in the “Newsletter Email (Digital)” category.
"We celebrate this remarkable achievement with Jim Smith, Kenneth Chan, Mary Montemayor, and other staff who work every week to produce NRB Today,” said Dr. Jerry A. Johnson, President & CEO of National Religious Broadcasters. "I’m not at all surprised by this recognition because I know the quality of their work. But I’m pleased that Evangelical Press Association has acknowledged their excellence with this prestigious honor.”
The EPA is the world’s largest professional organization for the evangelical periodical publishing industry, and hosts two annual contests: the Awards of Excellence contest (for publications as a whole) and the Higher Goals contest (for individual pieces produced – reporting, photos, design, etc.).
The Awards of Excellence contest, which looks at the entire publication, honors overall excellence and is broken down by category, with awards offered in each category. Judges in each category evaluate a number of criteria, including writing quality, content choices, and design.
The EPA awards were presented during the association’s annual convention. The recently concluded convention, EPA 2017, was held April 9-11 in Lombard, Illinois. Other recipients of an Award of Excellence include NRB members Focus on the Family for Boundless (in the Youth Digital category) and World Vision for its self-titled magazine (in the Organizational category).
The Salvation Army's SAConnects magazine, BGEA's Decision magazine, In Touch Ministries' In Touch magazine, Answers in Genesis' Answers magazine, and Focus on the Family's Clubhouse magazine were also honored with Higher Goals awards for articles, designs, and photos featured in their respective publications last year.
Johnson also celebrated the recognition given to NRB member organizations that also received awards.
“The awards earned by our members is another example of why NRB is the premier association of Christian communicators,” he said.
Sent every Thursday, NRB Today presents the latest news from the association and the association’s member organizations. The newsletter also serves as a source for tips, trends, and insights relevant to Christian communicators across the spectrum. In addition, NRB Today features occasional columns, movie reviews, and product reviews.
NRB members are encouraged to submit news regarding their organization/ministry for inclusion in NRB Today, which goes out to more than 14,000 subscribers. The publication also offers advertising opportunities. To sign up to receive NRB Today, click here. To inquire about advertising, click here.
