Member Spotlight: WGS Ministries

WGS Ministries logoWGS Ministries was founded by teacher and author Jonathan Williams to advance life change, build a biblical worldview, and connect people to God’s story through the truth of God’s Word.

The ministry features the teaching and storytelling of Williams, who served as teaching pastor for 35 years in the Great Commission Churches network, including 10 years on their National Leadership Council and two years on their Doctrine Ministry Team.

Williams’ storytelling is displayed in the broadcast “Stories of the Master,” a half-hour, dramatic narrative of the life of Christ from his birth to his death, resurrection, and enthronement at the right hand of God.

“I weave in cultural and historical details which make the stories come alive,” says Williams.

The 80 stories are heard throughout the world on Trans World Radio and on regular radio in Albania, Kosovo, and Nepal in their languages.

Twelve of these stories have been incorporated into a book called The Women Jesus Loved, which highlights the compassion and respect that Jesus showed women – a marked difference from the way others treated women in a world where women were regarded as second-class citizens at best and property at worst.

Williams is also the teacher for the Bible study program Word of God, Speak heard around the world on Trans World Radio.

The ministry also features a 16-minute video called “The Renewal of All Things,” a Gospel presentation which Williams created in story format upon the request of leaders at Trans World Radio in 2014. The video is now available in more than 20 languages with more languages – Amharic, Croatian, Urdu, and Kimbundu – being added this year.
