Member Spotlight: Call To Worship

Call to Worship logoFor almost three decades, the Call To Worship radio program has been inviting listeners on the air to “Glorify the LORD with me – let us exalt His name together.”

The listener-supported, one-hour program is a special time of worship and praise, with God's Word spoken and in song.

“theDove Radio Network has carried Call To Worship for over 15 years,” commented Perry Atkinson, President/CEO of TheDove Radio & Television Network, in an endorsement of the program.

“It is a perfect Sunday Morning program and has a VERY loyal listening audience,” he added. “Gary Roby’s gentle scriptural commentary brings listeners hope and encouragement. Call To Worship’s selection of traditional worship music helps build faith in the life of the listener. Call To Worship is a program that settles the heart and touches lives through wonderful worship music…I highly recommend it for your programming lineup.”

Call To Worship was originally produced and hosted by Dave Kersey for the Family Life Radio Network in February of 1989. Over the years, stations all around the country started broadcasting the program each weekend. Then, in 2013, the Oregon-based Dove Media Ministries (UCB USA Inc.) began distributing the program.

In January 2015, one month after Kersey retired, Gary Roby became the new producer/host of the program, bringing with him many years of background in Christian radio in several markets.

Then, on January 1, 2017, after establishing the Call To Worship (CTW) nonprofit corporation and obtaining 501c3 tax exempt status, Roby took ownership.

According to the organization, the Call To Worship time together each weekend is not just a music program, but is an extended time of worship that is designed to flow seamlessly and thematically from one element to the next, all with one purpose in mind: to glorify God and give thanks for His marvelous gift of salvation and forgiveness.
