Dr. Rick Brewer was inaugurated as Louisiana College's ninth president last month – six months after Louisiana College trustees unanimously elected him to the position, and five months after he officially took office.
Previously, Dr. Brewer served as Vice President of Student Affairs and Athletics at Charleston Southern University in Charleston, SC, where he gained extensive senior-level administrative experience during his 28-year tenure there.
“These are exciting and invigorating days for Louisiana College,” remarked Dr. Brewer. “Cathy and I are humbled that God has allowed the opportunity to serve at Louisiana College. She and I both are elated when thinking of what God has in store.”
Noting Louisiana College’s “rich and well-deserved history,” Dr. Brewer said, “I am entrusting our future together into God’s hands as he leads us in building upon LC’s remarkable heritage.”
In the days leading up to his inauguration on September 18, Dr. Brewer thanked Louisiana Baptists and the Central Louisiana community for the warm reception offered to him as the college’s ninth president.
“Many people have offered encouraging words, and followed them with tangible actions that assure me of their support and, more important, their friendship,” he shared. “I anticipate our days ahead with the joyful expectation that the best is yet to come.”
