Justin Dix Celebrates 25 Years with Family Life

Justin DixJustin Dix, the overnight radio announcer with Family Life in Bath, New York, is celebrating 25 years of service at the ministry this month.

For two and half decades, Dix has faithfully served Family Life by announcing for the radio network every weekday after midnight, and every Sunday morning.

“I still remember my first phone conversation with Justin,” recalled Rick Snavely, President of Family Life, in a press release.  “Justin’s brother-in-law, Tim Zimmerman of the Kings Brass, kept saying I should contact Justin about a job, so one day I did. Justin was in Kansas City at the time and wasn’t interested in moving.  A few years later, he called me back wondering if a position might still be available. Turns out, God had been loosening his roots in the Midwest.”

During his call with Dix, Snavely spoke of a vision: of building not just one station, but an expanded network of stations that would impact thousands of lives with the Gospel. In 1992, Dix left Kansas City to join Family Life and to help the team that would turn that vision into a reality.

“Family Life wouldn’t be the same without Justin,” said Snavely. “He’s a rare gift to our listeners and staff.  Not only has he encouraged many people over the air with his insights and commentary, he’s a wonderfully compassionate person who’s willing to be ‘inconvenienced’ at any point in his day by someone who stops into his studio needing prayer, wisdom, or encouragement. I believe we are stronger and more unified as a staff because he’s here.”

Founded in 1957, Family Life Ministries is devoted to strengthening individuals and families through Christian radio broadcasting, concerts, educational and social programs, biblical counseling, and the performing arts. Headquartered in Bath, New York, Family Life owns a Christian radio network of 23 stations and 41 translators broadcasting in regions of New York and Pennsylvania. Established in 1983, the radio network is a listener-supported broadcaster currently reaching a potential listenership of five million.
