John Stonestreet has been appointed President of The Colson Center after having served as an integral part of the organization since 2010.
A gifted communicator on areas of faith and culture, and a popular speaker at conferences and various gatherings, Stonestreet has been serving as anchor for The Point and BreakPoint This Week as well as co-host with Eric Metaxas for BreakPoint.
Regarding his appointment, Stonestreet said, "Working with Chuck Colson was one of the greatest honors of my life.
“I believe deeply in his vision of Christianity as the fundamental truth about reality and the task of Christians to be the restorers of culture,” he added. “We’ve got a great team, many of whom Chuck personally mentored, and we’re ready to build on his legacy.”
In addition to his work with The Colson Center, Stonestreet is the co-author of three books – the latest being Restoring All Things (with Warren Cole Smith). He remains a Senior Content Advisor for Summit Ministries in Manitou Springs, CO, and has engaged deeply in collegiate life, formerly serving on the teaching faculty of Bryan College in Dayton, TN.
With Stonestreet’s appointment, The Colson Center also announced the appointment of Steve Verleye as Executive Director/CEO. Verleye has been the President of Journey Advisors, providing executive coaching and strategic consulting services to nonprofit boards and CEOs. He spent nearly 35 years in the technology industry before shifting his focus to the nonprofit world. A graduate of The Colson Center’s Centurion program, Verleye also serves as Chairman of the Board for Pioneer Human Services, a nonprofit that helps ex-offenders with housing, treatment, and job skills training.
According to The Colson Center’s announcement on Monday, the new appointments are effective immediately.
