Jamey Schmitz, founder and president/CEO of WLMB TV 40 Toledo and the YES-FM Radio Network, will be awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity Degree from Winebrenner Theological Seminary during commencement exercises on Saturday, August 4.
Based in Findlay, Ohio, Winebrenner Theological Seminary is a fully accredited institution that was established in 1942 as a graduate school of theology of Findlay College (renamed The University of Findlay in 1989).
In a press release announcing the conferring of Schmitz’s honorary degree, Winebrenner noted that the television executive “has taken an active role in preserving and expanding religious liberties” by personally meeting with 42 U.S. Senators, as well as Presidents George W. Bush and Donald J. Trump.
In addition, Schmitz – whose broadcasting ministries are both headquartered in Toledo, Ohio – is a founding member of the NRB President’s Council, has served four terms on the NRB Television Standing Committee, and has been a member of the NRB Resolutions Committee for several years. Schmitz also serves as a board member for NRBTV.
