More than 1,000 people from 48 nations participated last month in three weeks of global fasting and prayer focused on Jerusalem.
Led by Bishop Robert Stearns, founder and executive director of Eagles’ Wings Ministry, along with more than 30 global Christian leaders, the international call to fast was accompanied by almost nightly prayer sessions on Facebook Live with various special guests. The fast led up to a global gathering in Jerusalem October 7-9, which was launched with the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem.
“The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem was a tremendous success this year,” reported Stearns in a Facebook post, encouraging friends and supporters to “help us spread the word about what God is doing!”
This year, the Day of Prayer event was broadcast live to 190 nations and featured internationally-acclaimed worship and dance artists, and a keynote speech by Dr. Michael Oren, Minister of Knesset and Former Israeli Ambassador to the United States.
The event also kicked off a 72-hour round-the-clock event known as Awake Jerusalem, in which hundreds of young millennial Christians from 20 nations worshipped and prayed in key locations across the city and also with the Christian Arab community in Bethlehem.
“We are amazed at all God did in Awake Jerusalem this week,” Stearns commented in a Facebook post.
