Last month, Faith Radio took another step forward in its growth and outreach with the launch of Faith 104.7FM in Madison, Wis.
According to Faith Radio General Manager Dick Whitworth, Faith 104.7 FM will help the network reach almost 400,000 people in the Madison metro area with relevant Bible preaching and family-focused teaching 24/7 in FM quality.
“[M]any AM radio stations are required by the Federal Communications Commission to reduce power after sunset and AM 1190 was no exception,” Whitworth explained on Faith Radio’s website, referring to Faith 1190 WNWC, which covers Madison and surrounding areas in Wisconsin.
“[T]o be exact, AM 1190 has almost 5,000 watts of power during the day but is required to reduce our power to 21 watts at night leaving us little or no broadcast coverage over the Madison metro,” he informed supporters. “We are thrilled at this new opportunity to serve Madison and we are requesting your prayers as we believe that God has called us to broadcast His love and truth for such a time as this!”
Faith Radio, which primarily consists of AM stations, features long-form Christian talk and teaching, including Susie Larson of Live the Promise and Dr. Bill Maier of the Dr. Bill Maier Live morning show. Its sister network, Life Radio, which primarily consists of FM stations, features contemporary Christian music, engaging on-air talent, and a focus on involving and serving the communities they reach.
Both Faith Radio and Life Radio are ministries of the University of Northwestern – St. Paul. Together, the networks span nine markets in seven different states.
