A prayer initiative that began as a result of the terrorist attack on the United States on September 11, 2001, will once again gather millions of Americans in various locations for a time of intercession.
“Cry Out America reminds us of these attacks on our nation and of our desperate need for God each day,” said Ronnie W. Floyd, Senior Pastor of Cross Church and President of the National Day of Prayer Task Force, which was recently entrusted by the prayer initiative’s founders to strengthen the call nationwide.
“As America remembers this day, we need to see it become a day where millions of Americans join for a few moments in various locations to cry out to God for our nation,” he added in a recent blog post.
According to Floyd, the initiative’s three major prayer points are:
“These three major needs in our nation coincide with our continual needs since 9/11,” Floyd explained.
According to the National Day of Prayer leader, there are a few thousand gatherings that will be taking place on September 11, which can be found at www.cryoutamerica.us/find_event.
On Monday, September 11, at 12:00 p.m., Floyd will join a Cry Out America rally in Daley Plaza in Chicago that will be streamed live at www.nationaldayofprayer.org.
“Spread the word, tell your friends, and let’s gather America for this Cry Out America rally from the city of Chicago,” Floyd concluded. “And wherever you are, join with local believers to pray for America. Now is the time to lead and pray.”
