Christian Filmmaker Alex Kendrick to Speak at Proclaim 18

Alex HendricksWriter, director, actor, and author Alex Kendrick is scheduled to speak on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at a Super Session during Proclaim 18, the NRB International Christian Media Convention in Nashville, Tennessee.

“We are excited to have Alex Kendrick speak again at our Convention,” said Jerry A. Johnson, President & CEO of NRB. “In this new generation of Christian filmmakers, Alex is a pioneer, and his films reflect and have encouraged the rise of quality Christian films in recent years.”

Alex Kendrick has dedicated his life to serving Jesus Christ and making His truth and love known among the nations through movies, books, speaking, and prayer. Kendrick and his brothers, Stephen and Shannon, operate Kendrick Brothers Productions and are active members of Sherwood Church in Albany, Georgia.

In 2002, Kendrick founded Sherwood Pictures with the blessing of his church’s senior pastor, Michael Catt, and with his brother Stephen began production on their first movie, Flywheel. After an overwhelming response, he partnered with his brother once again to write and produce Facing The Giants. More recently, in 2014, Kendrick co-wrote the screenplay for War Room with his brother Stephen. The film was released theatrically in August of 2015 and became the #1 movie at the box office. 

The Kendricks have also co-authored multiple best-selling books. Their last book, titled The Battle Plan for Prayer, made the New York Times best-sellers list.

Other speakers at Proclaim 18 in Nashville will include Kay Arthur, Co-Founder and CEO Emeritus of Precept Ministries International; Hugh Hewitt, Host of The Hugh Hewitt Show; David Jeremiah, Founder of Turning Point Radio and Television Ministries; Billy Kim, Chairman of Far East Broadcasting Company in South Korea; Eric Metaxas, Host of The Eric Metaxas Show; evangelist Luis Palau of the Luis Palau Association; Dennis Prager, Host of The Dennis Prager Show; actor Dennis Quaid; Joel C. Rosenberg, Founder and Chairman of The Joshua Fund; Rick Warren, Pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California; FOX News co-anchor Kelly Wright; and many more.

In addition, musical artists will include MercyMe, Fernando Ortega, and Michael W. Smith. The emcees of the Convention will be twin brothers, authors, and entrepreneurs David and Jason Benham.

Proclaim 18 will take place February 27-March 2, 2018, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, while NRB’s award-winning Exposition – featuring around 200 exhibitors – will be open February 28-March 2.
