Attention Filmmakers: Pitch Your Project or Story to Distributors at Proclaim 16!

NRB15 Pitch-a-thonDo you have a story, script, or even a finished product? Want to pitch it straight to a distribution company?

If you are registered for a Single Day Pass for the Friday of Proclaim 16 (February 26, 2016) or registered for the Full Convention (February 23-26, 2016), you can pitch to two different distributors at the NRB Pitch-a-thon!

During the Pitch-a-thon, representatives of participating distribution companies will be seated around tables. Everyone who signs up for the Pitch-a-thon will have five minutes at each distributor’s table – up to three minutes to pitch your project, and two for their notes. No more than two people can represent a project to a distributor and only one project is allowed per five-minute session.

The still-growing list* of those on the receiving end of the Pitch-a-thon currently includes:

  • Affirm Films (Rich Peluso)
  • Bridgestone Media Group (David Austin)
  • ChristianCinema.com (Bobby Downes, Jared Geesey)
  • CMD Distribution (Byron Jones)
  • Endgame Entertainment (Bob Norton)
  • Inkling Entertainment (Michael Flaherty)
  • JuceTV/TBN Network (Mark McCallie)
  • Mission Pictures (Cindy Bond)
  • Movie to Movement (Jason Jones)
  • Parables TV  (Isaac Hernandez)
  • Provident Films (Ben Howard)
  • Vision Video (Bill Curtis, Bill Carroll)

In the two years since NRB hosted the Pitch-a-thon, a number of scripts have been purchased and a number of participants have received offers for distribution for their films.

“I presented a one-page overview of my screenplay, Helen of Troy, Tennessee, to Scott Mednick (300, Superman Returns, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) of Paramount,” shares actor, writer, and comedian Torry Martin, who participated in the 2015 Pitch-a-thon. “Within 24 hours, he’d read my script cover to cover.” Soon, Mednick and Martin (along with co-writer Marshal Younger) entered into an exclusive 18-month film option agreement. Today, Helen of Troy, Tennessee marches toward production.

“My advice to any Christian who wants to break into the entertainment industry? Join NRB and attend the Convention," says Martin. "It’s an investment in your future. Oh, and bring a box of business cards. You are going to need them.”

The upcoming Pitch-a-thon will take place Friday, February 26, 2016, from 9:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, TN – site of Proclaim 16, the upcoming NRB International Christian Media Convention. The Film & Entertainment Summit also takes place on February 26.

Registration is required to participate in the Pitch-a-thon. And all participants must arrive by 8:15 a.m. for a session on "How to Pitch." We recommend that you register as soon as possible to ensure a spot with the distributor(s) you want most. Appointments are expected to fill up quickly!

To register for the event, visit nrbconvention.org.  Registration for the Pitch-a-thon is completed within the Convention registration process. If you have already registered for the Convention, and would like to add the Pitch-a-thon, simply log back on and modify your Convention registration.  The Pitch-a-thon registration can be found at the bottom of the page with the additional meal tickets, reserved tables, etc.

*The representative(s) taking pitches for the company may be other than those named above.
