Answers in Genesis (AiG) was honored with the Film Ministry Excellence award, among others, at the Christian Worldview Film Festival last month.
Since 2014, the festival has aimed to encourage Christian filmmakers in their biblical worldview and the craft of filmmaking. The festival features workshops and training from professionals in the filmmaking field, such as scriptwriters, producers, acting coaches, and directors. It culminates with an award ceremony that considers more than 100 Christian films.
“We’ve been attending this film festival since it began and that relationship has allowed us to have an influence on the content in various Christian films,” reported AiG Founder, President, and CEO Ken Ham in his blog.
“AiG staff has met with and developed relationships with filmmakers at the festival, helping them understand the importance of a truly biblical worldview – starting in Genesis – and how to convey this through their filmmaking,” he continued. “In honor of the impact AiG has had on Christian filmmaking, we received a special, brand-new award during this year’s festival, the Film Ministry Excellence award.”
In addition to this award, the ministry also won awards individually recognizing several of its films. A total of five awards were given to the three films – “The Wild Brothers: Changes in Latitude” (Wild Brothers, episode 6), The Noah Interview (which plays at AiG’s Ark Encounter theme park), and The Building of the Ark Encounter.
“Answers in Genesis is pleased to participate in the only Christian-worldview-based film festival in the United States,” said Ham.
“I’m thankful that AiG has been able to influence the next generation of Christian filmmakers,” he added. “It’s a privilege to encourage these filmmakers to think biblically and be careful to reflect God’s Word accurately in their art as they write, direct, act, and film.”
