The endearing true-to-life family comedy Moms' Night Out was released on DVD and Blu-ray last week and has been touted as a “must have” for fans of faith-based movies.
Featuring Sean Astin (Goonies, Rudy, Lord of the Rings), Sarah Drew (Grey's Anatomy), and Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond), among others, Moms' Night Out celebrates the beautiful mess called parenting through the outrageous escapades of Allyson (played by Drew), whose plans for a peaceful, grown-up evening of dinner and conversation with friends and fellow moms go awry.
“Every mom and dad in America – whether they have toddlers, tweens or teens – is going to love this movie,” commented Heaton, who not only stars in the movie but served as executive producer with her husband, David Hunt, who also appears in the film. “It’s a hilarious family-friendly celebration of the trials and triumphs of parenting – a joyous affirmation of the world’s hardest but most important job.”
Included in the Moms’ Night Out Blue-ray and DVD are bonus materials, including a blooper reel, deleted scenes, and commentary with the Erwin Brothers, who directed the film, and producer Kevin Downes. Fans can also enjoy special featurettes, including a discussion with filmmakers in The Heart of Moms’ Night Out, an exploration into the film’s experimental improvisation in The Art of Improv, and a deconstructed look at the film’s car chase sequence in The Art of Action.
Additional featurettes exclusively on the CBA Edition DVD include a devotional by Alex Kendrick, Inside With Sarah Drew, Grief and Growing With Abbie Cobb, Testimony with Andrea Logan White, and The Difference Between Moms and Dads.
Moms’ Night Out has a running time of approximately 98 minutes and is rated PG for mild thematic elements and some action. Moms’ Night Out was screened at the NRB 2014 International Christian Media Convention in Nashville earlier this year and was well received.
