Missions-focused satellite services company Ka You Communications was honored earlier this month with the 2014 Worship Facilities New Product Award for “Best Overall Media and Communication Product.”
The award was presented during the Worship Facilities Expo held in Dallas October 1-2. It recognized Ka You for its work at Lives Changed by Christ (LCBC) Church, a multi-site church in Central Pennsylvania that retained Ka You to build a satellite system to link its five remote locations.
“We’re extremely honored to receive this award for our work at LCBC,” said Ka You President Linda Gimourginas. “The unique advantages of live satellite delivery make it the perfect fit for LCBC Church and other multi-site broadcasters.”
According to Ka You, LCBC asked Ka You to help carry out its goal of “one look, one voice, one message” by recreating the dual-screen presentation seen at its main campus at its remote locations.
The church had previously considered terrestrial-based solutions, but it soon realized they were too complex and expensive compared to satellite. With live, broadcast-grade satellite technology, LCBC was able to achieve its goal of dual-screen video.
“Being live has enhanced the spiritual growth of the church’s congregants,” said Gimourginas. “No longer are remote campuses seeing last week’s sermons. Now, even if members attend different locations, their interactions are enhanced by the immediacy of the message. With live, dual screens via satellite, everyone has the same point of reference.”
Based in Silver Spring, MD, Ka You Communications is a mission-focused satellite services company that provides reliable, cost-effective transmission solutions to commercial broadcasters, ministries, universities, and government entities.
