Next Tuesday, the Justices of the Supreme Court plan to confer together about whether or not to take up one or more cases challenging on religious freedom grounds the HHS Obamacare mandate requiring coverage of contraception and abortion-inducing drugs. Prominent among them is Hobby Lobby’s case, which challenges the Obama Administration’s notion that for-profit organizations should not be able to object on First Amendment grounds. Also up for consideration are cases involving a small business owned by a Mennonite Family, another business run by a Roman Catholic family, and a challenge from Liberty University. The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, which is representing Hobby Lobby in its court challenge, has details on all the 82 cases currently pending in the Judicial Branch here.
