June Hunt Tackles Spiritual Abuse in New Book

Spiritual Abuse, by June HuntRadio host and biblical counselor June Hunt has released a new book that tackles the various forms of spiritual abuse that can occur when someone holding power uses it to excessively control others.

The book, Spiritual Abuse, is the latest in a series of honest, relevant, and easy-to-read titles covering powerful topics. The other five titles are Critical Spirit, Chronic Illness, Procrastination, Trials, and Victimization.

“After decades of counseling men and women from all walks of life, June knows how to lead readers to truth — truth that liberates because it is truth from God,” remarks Kay Arthur, Co-Founder of Precept Ministries International, in her endorsement of Hunt’s book series.

The series, which has sold more than 700,000 copies in its first two years, is packed with Bible‐based advice, realistic tips, and step‐by‐step solutions. The 96-page books provide more than just testimonies; they provide help, healing, and restoration, by providing a solid overview of each topic (key definitions, characteristics, causes, signs of abuse, and more).

Hunt – who for more than 30 years has counseled others through her Hope for the Heart program, now heard on more than 900 radio outlets – says she hopes to give people not just hope for a particular issue, but an overall message of hope.

“Open your heart to God, and He will guide you to right living — not through rigid commands or use of power, but through the permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit,” Hunt encourages her readers.

In Spiritual Abuse, Hunt exposes the yoke of legalism and points readers to the true freedom found in the Gospel. The book, along with the others in the series, is published by Aspire Press, an imprint of Rose Publishing.
