NRB congratulates the leaders of two member organizations for their recent selection as 2014 Christian Book Award winners.
Pastor John MacArthur’s The MacArthur Study Bible NIV was selected as the winner of the 2014 Christian Book Award in the “Bibles” category. In its announcement of the winners, the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) noted that “no other study Bible does such a thorough job of explaining the historical context and meaning of the text.”
Also among the winners were Richard and Renee Stearns, who were honored with the 2014 Christian Book Award in the “Inspiration” category for their book He Walks Among Us: Encounters with Christ in a Broken World.
“The scores of people featured in this book invited us into their homes and lives, sharing their most intimate stories and believing they counted for something,” noted the ECPA.
Established in 1978 as the Gold Medallion Book Awards by the ECPA, the Christian Book Award program recognizes the absolute highest quality in Christian books. Based on excellence in content, literary quality, design, and impact, the Christian Book Award program is the oldest and among the most prestigious awards in the religious publishing industry.
The announcement of the 2014 winners was made at the ECPA Awards & Anniversary Banquet on April 28 at the headquarters of Focus on the Family in Colorado Springs, CO. Awards were given in seven categories and for the 2014 Christian Book of the Year.
