Invest in the Future of Christian Media: Support the Intercollegiate NRB

iNRB Students participating at NRB14For those interested in investing in and gaining exposure in front of the next generation of Christian media professionals, there are unique opportunities available now through the intercollegiate arm of NRB.

While NRB has been bringing together Christian media and ministry professionals since 1944, the Intercollegiate NRB (iNRB) has been promoting excellence, integrity, and networking opportunities in media among Christian students with an interest or major in broadcasting, journalism, or media communications.

Each year, the iNRB hosts a series of meetings at the NRB International Christian Media Convention that allow students and faculty to learn more about the creative ideas and successes of other schools and programs.

iNRB also organizes a number of competitions that challenge students to apply their classroom education and internship experiences to produce professional-level media. What’s more, trophies and prize money are awarded each year to the top students, many of whom go on to serve at NRB member organizations, such as TWR.

“[F]or TWR, the annual [NRB Convention] has also turned out to be a proving ground for young missionary recruits,” the ministry reported after the most recent convention.

As a result, TWR is among those at the NRB Convention on the lookout for students with the abilities, the passion, and the calling to join their ministry.

And raising awareness of their ministry at iNRB competitions and events has certainly helped. TWR was a sponsor of the iNRB media awards competition last year.

Organizations interested in becoming an iNRB sponsor are encouraged to contact Melissa Sturgis, NRB Director of Membership, for details (msturgis@nrb.org, 703-331-4502).

New to the awards competition this coming year will be the PR Challenge, which will test the public relations skills of students. It joins the three other on-site competitions: the Digital Audio (DA) Challenge, the Digital Video (DV) Challenge, and the Digital News (DN) Challenge.
