In Memoriam: Ron Mighell, Founder of WTLW and WLMB

Ron MighellWTLW-TV and WLMB-TV Founder Ron Mighell went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 22, after suffering an extended illness.

It was through Mighell’s vision, prayer, and hard work that WTLW TV-44 in Lima, OH, became a reality. The station signed on the air in 1982 after a seven-year process that began with a vision to bring Christian television to West Central Ohio. Mighell went on to launch WLMB TV-40 in Toledo, OH, in the early 90s, and both stations continue to flourish to this day.

In addition to his roles at WTLW and WLMB, Mighell was actively involved with NRB, serving as a member of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors. In 2012, Mighell was awarded the prestigious NRB Milestone Award, which honors industry pioneers for exemplary service in Christian broadcasting for 50 years or more.

Mighell is survived by his wife, Becky; four children; and several grandchildren.
