A United Nations agency recently belittled the ancient Jewish connection to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. In a resolution that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called “absurd,” the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) highlighted areas of importance for Islam in the Old City of Jerusalem while staying noticeably silent on Judaism’s prominent holy site, even as Israel was criticized in the document.
“Prime Minister Netanyahu is right. This is absurd,” said NRB President & CEO Dr. Jerry A. Johnson. “Israel is an invaluable ally of the United States, and the Jewish people are beloved friends of NRB. The world may turn its back on the people of Israel, but we at NRB stand with them.”
In the same spirit, the NRB Board of Directors, a body of approximately 100 Christian media ministry leaders, earlier this year unanimously adopted a resolution calling on the association’s members to pray for Israel and stating, “…while other nations and international bodies may alienate or abandon Israel, NRB calls on the United States to continue to stand steadfast by Israel in its time of need.”
