As the nation pauses today to remember the horrific attacks of September 11, 2001, a powerful new memorial is now open. The Flight 93 National Memorial in Pennsylvania honors the 40 United Airlines passengers who sacrificed their own lives rather than allow al-Qaida terrorists to use their plane as a missile, likely aimed at the U.S. Capitol. More information about the new monument to these heroes is available at http://www.nps.gov/flni/index.htm .
