March for Life Today

Tens of thousands are gathering in Washington, D.C., today for the 45th annual March for Life. The theme of the march this year is “Love Saves Lives,” which organizers say embodies “the true spirit and mission of the pro-life movement by enlisting the power of love to empower others to choose life.”

NRB is a “White Rose” sponsor of this powerful event, and NRB president & CEO Dr. Jerry A. Johnson said, “We are called by our Lord to love our neighbor, and that includes women and children in the most vulnerable of situations. Let us stand and march together on their behalf!”

Those marching to advocate a culture of honoring the sanctity of life will rally beforehand on the National Mall. U.S. President Donald Trump will deliver a live video greeting from the White House Rose Garden via satellite, a first for a sitting President. In addition, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) will address the rally, as will U.S. Representatives Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-Wash.), Dan Lipinski (D-Ill.), and Chris Smith (R-N.J.); Heritage Foundation president Kay Coles James; Pam Tebow, mother of celebrated athlete Tim Tebow; former NFL player Matt Birk and his wife, Adrianna; Bishop Vincent Matthews of the Church of God in Christ; and Sisters of Life’s Sister Bethany Madonna.

Those not in Washington today can join the march online using the social media hashtags #WhyWeMarch and #LoveSavesLives.
