Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently expressed solidarity with persecuted Christians in Iran. In a video message posted on social media last week, the prime minister rebuked a tweet from Iran's foreign minister wishing “A very happy and peaceful Christmas to all.” Netanyahu said, "Imagine praying quietly in your home, surrounded by your family – and all of the sudden, armed thugs burst in and drag you away to prison. They torture you merely for practicing your Christian faith. Welcome to Iran.” He called the Christmas greeting “the height of hypocrisy” and concluded assuring Iranian Christians, “We stand with you, brothers and sisters. The world stands with you."
