In remarks to a Multicultural Media, Telecom and Internet Council (MMTC) event this week, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai announced that the agency is preparing to formally solicit public input on a proposal that could give a power boost to numerous Class A FM stations. MMTC has pushed for the creation of such a new “C4” class of FM stations. Pai noted that this is an idea that has long sat at the agency, but it is now being actively considered.
The FCC proposed rulemaking is currently being circulated at the commission by the Media Bureau before being released for public comments.
