Since returning to Washington last week, Members of Congress have continued their investigation into the horrors about Planned Parenthood revealed in a series of undercover videos. The House Judiciary Committee held a powerful hearing last week featuring two abortion survivors (see here for a recap video). The House Energy & Commerce Committee also held a hearing this week, and the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee issued a subpoena for all unedited videos from the Center for Medical Progress. Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) said, “Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation want to hide their activities from the American people. This subpoena is a demand for transparency. The action of the court will not thwart or impede Congress’ Constitutional duty and right to conduct effective oversight.” A useful site to keep track of the many arms of the investigation into Planned Parenthood by the House of Representatives is www.gop.gov/plannedparenthood.
