EE International Helps Restore Lives in the Midst of Devastation

PhillipinesSince a super typhoon leveled parts of the Philippines late last year, Evangelism Explosion International has been working to reach 5,000 families in three strategically selected priority areas, utilizing three components: humanitarian relief, spiritual ministry, and structural rehabilitation.

While the work is ongoing and complete reports have yet to be filed, EE has reported a number of developments, including the establishment of a church in Tacloban City, where 120 adults and 50 children worship.

“They currently meet under a tent, but with EE assistance, a new church will rise from the rubble,” the ministry reported. “An architect has begun drawing up plans. Construction of another EE church in Tacloban is under way.”

In addition, EE noted that:

  • More than four thousand families have been served through the EE Philippines relief operation.
  • Around 3,500 individuals from among the typhoon victims have heard the Gospel and made professions of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ through EE-trained witnesses.
  • At least 30 local church buildings that were fully and or partially destroyed by the typhoon are going to be rebuilt.

“Please continue to pray for the Filipinos as they recover from this devastation,” urged the ministry. “And pray for the Lord’s guidance upon the EE ministry throughout the world.”
