Dr. Dan Lotz, the husband of preacher and ministry leader Anne Graham Lotz, was rushed to the emergency room last week and has since remained in the hospital.
According to Anne, Dan has an MRSA blood staph infection – “the very worst and most contagious kind.”
And while sources say Dan’s situation has improved since his hospitalization, friends and supporters have been asked to continue praying.
“[W]e need urgent prayer,” Anne expressed in a personal e-mail following Dan’s rush to the ER.
More specifically, Anne asked friends and supporters to pray:
In her call for prayer, Anne also shared a poem that her mother, the late Ruth Bell Graham, wrote in the flyleaf of her Bible when she was a girl. The poem (reprinted below) and Anne’s prayer request have since been widely shared across the blogosphere and on Facebook.
Trusting Him when dark doubts assail us
Trusting Him when our strength is small
Trusting Him when to simply trust Him
is the hardest thing of all.
Trust Him then through tears or sunshine
All our cares upon Him cast.
Till the storms of life are over
And the trusting days are past.
