CBN News will be bringing Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, pro-life advocate Lila Rose, and New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler as their guests to the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Dinner that will be held in Washington, DC, on Saturday, April 25.
“We have invited an eclectic group who excel in their fields and make a difference in people’s lives through their work and their actions,” said CBN News White House Correspondent Jennifer Wishon, who will be at the event together with the guests and CBN News Anchor John Jessup.
Regarding the selection of Butler, Wishon noted how Butler became a superstar overnight after his incredible goal line interception virtually assured his team its Super Bowl victory over the Seattle Seahawks this past season.
“[I]nstead of basking in the limelight, he resolved to work even harder,” she said, “and that’s admirable.”
Held by the White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA), the annual dinner raises money for WHCA Scholarships and honors the professional recipients of the WHCA's Journalism Awards. Only WHCA members and their organizations are eligible to purchase tickets for the annual dinner, and celebrities are regularly brought in as guests.
CBN News has previously been highlighted for its “unique” selection of guests.
Past CBN News guests have included Duck Dynasty’s Willie and Korie Robertson; Food Network stars Patrick and Gina Neely; Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver; Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. Zhou Wenzhong; American Idol finalists Colton Dixon, Mandisa, and Chris Sligh; television personality Sherri Shepherd; and Olympic Gold Medal speed skater Chad Hedrick.
