Dove-Award winning Aaron Shust is teaming with radio outlets across the country to help make Christmas a little more merry to those in need.
So far, the artist has worked with WAY-FM Network; Star 99.1 in Zarephath, NJ; and Spirit 105.3 in Seattle, WA.
“During this ‘most wonderful time of the year,’ it’s been a privilege to be able to partner with Aaron Shust,” commented Rob Wagman, Program Director at WAY-FM.
For its part, WAY-FM Network is presenting a $1,000 shopping spree for a family in need. The station is receiving nominations for families that need help this holiday season, and five families will be chosen by the station. Shust will select one family from those five to receive a $1,000 check.
“Besides playing some great holiday music from Unto Us, it’s also so meaningful to give a listener the opportunity to nominate a family in need that will make a huge financial difference in the life of this family, especially at Christmas,” expressed Wagman.
At Star 99.1, Shust and his new Christmas project, Unto Us, sponsored a Home for the Holidays promotion that offered listeners a chance to fly anywhere in the United States to reunite families at this special time of year. The winners of the promotion were a couple in New Jersey that now have an expense paid trip to Oregon. The husband hasn’t been home for Christmas with his family in three years so tickets were purchased for him, his wife, and his son.
Meanwhile, in Seattle, Spirit 105.3 is providing the children of incarcerated parents with Christmas gifts through the Angel Tree promotion, a program of Prison Fellowship. Shust is donating copies of Unto Us to help encourage donations for this valuable ministry. At the radio station’s website, www.spirit1053.com, there’s even a pop-up of Shust on the home page explaining the promotion.
Unto Us is Shust’s first Christmas album and features the Prague Symphony Orchestra.
